MTL Compatibility Capabilities

Main Page | Gas Analysis | Chem. Cert. | Liquid Separation | Compat.

At work in the MTL.The Material Testing Laboratory (MTL) performs numerous process material compatibility studies in support of WR manufacturing. The objective is to prevent the physical degradation of manufactured components as a result of physical contact with process materials used in manufacturing operations. Types of studies include physical and chemical characterization of a material, cleaning studies, and corrosion studies. Virtually all of the MTL testing equipment and expertise capabilities have been applied to compatibility studies. The MTL also collaborates with other LANL organizations that effectively expand our capabilities and expertise to other disciplines such as surface analysis and materials science.

The Material Testing Laboratory's Quality Management Plan is applied to all compatibility studies, assuring that the data is technically sound, meets customer requirements, is reproducible, and is properly documented. MTL project management and control systems assure that compatibility studies meet customer scope and objectives, are done on time, and within budget.
